Data Management
The Data tab holds everything that is not a survey: basemaps, reference layers, geofences and landmarks. It has four tabs, and they all work the same way.
| Tab | Contains | Add with |
|---|---|---|
| Basemaps | Online basemaps you added, MBTiles maps, georeferenced images | Add Basemap |
| Layers | Reference layers (GPX, GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML, GeoPackage, spreadsheets, vector tiles) | Add Layer |
| Geofences | Circles, polygons and corridors, plus the monitoring switch | Add Geofence, Import |
| Landmarks | Global and session landmarks | Add Landmark, Import |
One way to work
- Tap a card to open its options sheet — activate, show or hide, zoom to, change style, edit, delete. The sheet’s header shows what you tapped and its current state.
- Swipe a card from right to left to delete it; you are asked to confirm.
- The action bar at the bottom of each tab holds Add and, where they apply, Import, Download and Share.
- Sort and filter, where offered, open as sheets from the top bar.
Trash
Deleted surveys, photos, videos and features go to the Trash (top-right of the Data tab, or Settings › Storage) and can be restored for 30 days; after that they are purged automatically. Emptying the trash, or deleting one item forever, frees its storage immediately. Geofences, landmarks, layers and basemaps are deleted directly, after confirmation.
Storage
Imported basemaps and layers are copied into the app’s storage, so the original file can be removed from the phone. Deleting a layer or basemap deletes its copy. Map tiles viewed online are cached; Settings › Storage & Cache shows the cache size and clears it.
